1. Now’s the time
The market springs into action in March and April so it’s a good time to get your home ready & reducing the clutter in your home can help you focus on your plans for moving. Having an untidy house can be distracting and the constant need to tidy can get in the way of productivity.
2. Don’t leave it until the last minute
De-cluttering early on could really help reduce stress on the day of your big move day. Planning is key, try and start a few weeks earlier, walk around your house and decide what you don’t want to take with you to your new home to save you time.
3. Spring clean
Freshening up the inside of your home can make a big difference to your viewer’s first impression. Before the photographer arrives get your house ready for your photos – remember first impressions count. Is the front door clean? Is the grass ready for its first cut of the year? Clean windows inside and out, spring clean the house throughout, fluff the cushions and straighten the bedding – set the scene for your buyer.
4. Step outside
You don’t have to be Monty Don or Percy Thrower, but by cutting the grass, sweeping the driveway, trimming the hedge and cutting back any dead spring bulbs gives a great impression before the viewer walks to your front door
5. Showtime
· When showing viewers round, make sure the house smells good, light a scented candle, open windows, turn on table lamps, even play music in the background.
· Can someone take your dog for a walk for you?
· Have brochures ready for your viewers
By following these easy steps we think it will show your home in the best light and good luck with your viewings!
